Hold the insomniac all night...

Named as a throwback tribute to the male singing groups of the 50's and 60's, The Luminaires are a 7-member, all-male vocal group based in Cupertino, California. They formed in September of 2003, with the idea of fashioning themselves after their favorite group, Rockapella, which employs the "vocal band" sound. They scored their first performance by invitation to a charity dinner featuring Cupertino's Mayor and City Council in less than 2 months together as a group.

The Luminaires have developed a reputation in Cupertino through their interpretations of a wide and diverse repertoire, which ranges from modern hits, old classics and even Taiwanese folk songs. Their vocal ability is displayed by the near-5 octave range and distinctive vocal percussion.

They have been featured in the Cupertino Courier, Campbell City Newspaper, Los Gatos Daily News and the largest Chinese newspaper in the Bay Area, the World Journal. In addition, they have graced the newsletters of various organizations.
